Manual Therapy
Manual therapy comes in many different forms. The one used most in our clinic is ischemic compression. Ischemic compression is used before every single of one my adjustments. This gets the muscle to loosen up and feels similar to someone finding a trigger point and applying pressure on it. Something I hear from patients is that ischemic compression is a good hurt. It's sore in the moment but always something they feel like they need and benefits them and the adjustment! Other manual therapies include any combination of your doctor using their hands or other tools to work the muscle, fascia (explained below), and skin to alleviate pain and increase function of the tissues treated.
